Women’s league was interrupted Wednesday morning by a seagull soaring over a player on the mat and dropping its payload—not the usual guano whitewash but a rain of silver herring fingerlings. A few of the tasty bits hit our newest player Sue as she prepared to deliver, the remainder sprayed over the green in front of her.

All types of creature visit our nature surrounded greens in Beacon Hill Park from peacocks that strut, swallows that swoop, crows that peck holes, to this–a greedy seagull emptying its overloaded gullet.
