Thanks to our many volunteers, VLBC participated in this year’s Cook Street Village Block Party by having an information booth set up on Cook Street and corresponding Open House.
Chris saved the day with the purchase/ set up of the required tent shelter—a gazebo that club members will enjoy taking shade under throughout the summer.
The day started with an innovative transport-train of wagon and wheelbarrows taking equipment to our assigned site on Cook Street. Pairs of volunteers manned the display table, handing out pamphlets, mingling with the crowd and directing visitors our way.
At the clubhouse, crews set up croquet and bowling greens, greeters welcomed guests and others provided introductory lessons to the game of choice. Information and lesson signup tables were set up inside.
Take down of the greens, and disassembly/return of the display equipment were the last jobs done by much appreciated volunteers.
We could not have pulled this off without all those who stepped forward to help. Thank you, thank you!!
