New floodlights were installed on the upper green this summer, thanks to the hard work and organizational skills of Chris Jones, Paula Parkinson and Susan Kainer. What better way to celebrate than to get out and enjoy some night bowling.

Chris has described the format as “an adaptation of crown bowls, keeping the chaos but on a flat green, not a hillock… the mat is a small dot and players bowl in whatever directions annoys the neighbouring bowlers most.”

Crown bowling will take place Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm for the month of October. Socializing and snacks in the clubhouse to follow.

“These will be fun evenings. Fresh air, exercise and friendly competition are good for us and for the world.” (Chris).
