Five Victoria LBC members participated in the BC 55+ Seniors Games lawn bowling competition this year hosted by Juan de Fuca LBC.

Brenda Janke and Sandy Hodel entered the Women’s 55+ Pairs, Michael Pardaens and Brenda competed in Mixed 55+ Pairs and Michael paired with Dan Bitterich of Burnside LBC in the Men’s 55+ Pairs. Cathy Korpela and Alice Albert competed in the Women’s 70+ Pairs and joined forces with Mike Holt and Andy McMullen from CP LBC to play in the Mixed 4s 70+ category.

All of the VLBC members took the podium to receive a medal: Brenda and Sandy- Bronze in Women’s Pairs; Michael and Dan – Bronze in the Men’s Pairs; Mike, Andy, Cathy and Alice – Silver in 70+ Mixed x4s.

The well run event was a great opportunity to compete with bowlers from the Island and other areas of the province, make new friends and learn new skills. Thank you to all the volunteers at Juan de Fuca and BC Games.
