Mother nature cooperated by providing a spectacular warm spring day for VLBC’s annual open house and membership drive. Members welcomed a good turnout of walk-in guests—including one of Beacon Hill Park’s resident peacocks—eager to try both lawn bowling and croquet.

Guests were offered a preliminary lesson in each sport and the opportunity to play a few rounds. Inside the clubhouse, the hospitality crew offered coffee/tea and a spread of snacks and home-baked goodies. Others handed out information and provided an opportunity to sign up for lessons and/or takeout a club membership.  

After a long stretch of COVID lock downs and a cool wet winter, enthusiasm is high for a fun-filled season.
